Vision and Ideology
Clear understanding of personal and professional vision and ideology is extremely important for further life and career path. An individual should realize personal values associated with life goals and guiding principles for identification the fields of operation which would be close to him. The current work will disclose my personal and professional values and integrate them in professional sphere that is rather interested to me.
The additional attention will be paid to the discussion of purpose, core ideology, core competence, and envisioned future. The last will be composed from two parts: BHAG and vivid description of what it will be like to achieve the goal. The depiction of vision and ideology is rather relevant for better understanding of self, personal behavior, further directions of work and cooperation with others.
Personal and Professional Values
The current work will be devoted to providing and explanation of both personal and professional values as they are strongly linked with each other. Persona values are reflected and applied in the situations with dealing with others, behaving, and performance of certain tasks in everyday life. They are based on personal morality and ethics. Professional values are reflected in the way of performance of certain role in certain industry and sphere. In opposition to personal values, professional values are closely related to business relationships. The overlapping of personal and professional goals. The research of Katherine W. Dean showed that personal values have the tremendous impact on workplace and professional values of an individual.
The core values introduced in the current work represent the essentials of my personal and professional life. They form “a small set of timeless guiding principles…require no external justification…have intrinsic value”. These values will remain unchangeable even if circumstances of the life will change and penalize us for holding them.
The major values, which represent integral parts of the major goal of personal life and the existence of the corporation in which I intend to work, are the following: happiness, freedom, comfortable life, inner harmony, salvation, and self-respect. Notably, that all of them can be associated with environmental protection and sustainability of resources. The future career path will be connected with this sphere, particularly with corporate entrepreneurship in the development of unique technologies for sustainable use of resources and elimination of environmental harm from wastes. In the short-term perspective such organization may be focused on recycling of plastics and using it for creating new commodities by application of 3D printers.
On the one hand, such approach would minimize pollution of nature by plastics, and on the other hand it would enable to produce highly demanded goods of any design and complexity without the necessity of spending additional resources. In the context of the current work it should be noted that product characteristics of the introduced initiatives depend from the size of the network, i.e. rise of the utility of the product is strongly linked with growth of the network. That means that the increase of number of used sustainable technologies would produce bigger positive impact reflected in reduction of pollution and more sustainable use of resources. As per personal understanding, sustainable use of resources and non-destruction of nature are closely linked with inner harmony, comfort of life and self-respect.
In stands of reason rapid technological development will allow to recycle the greater number of materials in such a manner, replace 3D printers by other technological solutions, and make them more affordable for any individual. However, the new directions of company’s performance will be strongly linked with the above stated values
The most important values insulated in guiding principles of personal life are the following: self-control, politeness, logic, courage, quality, ambitions and self-esteem to realize unique approach. To my mind, they ae also strongly linked with sustainable use of resources. Humanity should has strong self-control not to pollute the nature by wastes. People should be polite to the environment flora and fauna, which coexist with us on the Earth. Human actions should be logical, i.e. based on the understanding that depletion of resources and pollution will have the enormous negative impact on our lives and lives of future generations.
Above mentions sustainable initiatives would be performed with strong self-esteem and belief in personal efforts and efforts of the company to change the world for the better. The outmost innovative technologies and engineering solutions will be used for the realization of these initiatives. This will assure granting of the outmost results, high efficiency and effectiveness of the projects and delivering the commodities of the highest quality. At the same time, me and people who will be engaged in these projects should have enough courage to meet all the complexities which may arise in course of work. These complexities may be represented by the engineering failures, not meeting the budget, sharp competition, lack of resources and etc.
Purpose
The major role of purpose is providing guidance and inspiration. It captures the soul of personal life and further professional path and explains the existence. The purpose can be presented by the following statement: contribution to people’s quality of life by reuse of used resources. Notably, that it is oriented n the improvement of personal life and life of other individuals. Moreover, it depicts the way of gaining of this improvement. At the same time, it does not specifies the methodology or way of improvement as they may change in course of changeable market conditions, shifts of human perceptions and lifestyles, and technological development.
Core Ideology
Core ideology is reflected in meaningful statement that excite myself and will be close to co-workers. It will enable to attract people in the project whose ore values are close to this ideology. Core ideology is the following: seeking for unknown and being brave enough to bring it to the world. It reflects also personal approach to find unique approaches in performance of common events and disclosing of new interesting facts, and having enough self-efficacy to introduce gained insights to the world. This core ideology is also applicable to the discussed project. People will constantly be searching for unique technological solutions and measures for more effective and efficient reusing of used resources.
Core Competence
Core competence is considered to be “strategic approach that defines organizational capabilities – what you are particularly good at”. Personal and professional capabilities are reflected in being persevering, self-assured, and in constant search of improvements. These searches may be associated with the increasing the quality of life, gaining additional knowledge and skills, and more sustainable use of environmental resources.
Envisioned Future
This component of the vision framework is composed from the following parts: “a 10-to-30-year audacious goal plus vivid description of what it will be like to achieve the goal”. The first component may be introduced in the form of BHAG, i.e. big, hairy, and audacious goal that is “clear and compelling, serves as unifying focal point of effort, and acts as a catalyst of team spirit”. This component has clear period and defined targets. Personal BHAG is reflected in the following: becoming the best professional in the development and realization of reuse of used resources projects within nearest 15 years. This goal can change in course of time under the effect of various influential and external forces. Moreover, it will definitely be amended after its reaching.
The vivid description helps people to make smart choices when stated goals are accomplished. It also enables to find the answer on the question “what is next”. It can be stated as promotion the application of innovative technologies for reuse of used resources into the everyday life of every member of the society all over the world and integration of such technologies into manufacturing.
Conclusion
The current work provides the better understanding of self by reviling of personal and professional visions and ideology. The major visions associated with goals stating are the following: happiness, freedom, comfortable life, inner harmony, salvation, and self-respect. The visions connected with the guiding principles in common life and future career path are self-control, politeness, logic, courage, quality, ambitions and self-esteem to realize unique approach. The purpose of my further work can be stated as contribution to people’s quality of life by reuse of used resources. Determined core ideology is seeking for unknown and being brave enough to bring it to the world.
Being persevering, self-assured, and in constant search of improvements represent the integral components of core competence. BHAG is becoming the best professional in the development and realization of reuse of used resources projects within nearest 15 years, while vivid description of future is promotion the application of innovative technologies for reuse of used resources into the everyday life of every member of the society and integration of such technologies into manufacturing
