Student Responders
Introduction
Needs analysis is important in the identification of a problem that faces a certain group of individuals in an organization or society. Needs analysis will therefore help in the identification of an appropriate solution that will address the problem identified (McKillip, 2007). This paper provides needs analysis for Mary Immaculate Queen Catholic School. The needs analysis paper identifies the problem at the school that necessitates the introduction of a training program. The essay also gives the description of the targeted audience, identify factors of success, determine the performance gap and come up with appropriate solution of the problem as well as identify if there are any constraints in achieving the solution to the identified problem.
Identification of the Problem
The student and teachers of Mary Immaculate Queen Catholic School have inadequate knowledge and skills towards a proper and effective use of Renaissance Student Responders. Since the teachers and students of the school are planning to use the Renaissance Student Responders, it is crucial for the teachers and students to be trained on how to use the responders so as to help facilitate the learning at the school and improve the academic performance of the school.

The determination of the success will be based on the ability of the teachers and students to properly and effectively use that Renaissance Student Responders for their academic lessons. The use of responders will ensue that the students are able to cope up with the advancement in technology hence the students will be more engaged in their academic lesson and enhance their academic performance.
The Performance Gap
There are significant number of students and teachers who are unable to use the student responders. Reports from the investigations regarding the use of the student responders indicates that 7 teachers out of 9 in the school are unable to use the students responders effectively and properly. This implies that only 2 teachers are capable of using the student responders. On the other hand 34 students out of 180 students in the school are capable of using the student responders. This implies that majority of the students in school are not able of using the student responders. Given that a large proportion of the students and teachers in the school are unable to use the student responders it is therefore necessary for the tutorial lessons regarding the use of the student responders to be introduced in school.
Graphical Representation of Need Analysis
From the graph it is clear that the level of illiteracy towards the use of student responders is high in the school. For example, the percentage number of students who are illiterate towards the use of student responders is 81 percent while that of teachers who are unable to use the student responders is 79 percent. This shows clearly that there is a need to educate teachers and students on the use of the responders.
Proposed Solution of the Problem
The appropriate and effective solution to the problem of lack of proper knowledge on how to use student responders is through developing of a training program that will help both teachers and students to be able to use the responders. Since the school has limited finance that can support direct training from individuals experts and institutions, web based tutorial will be appropriate for the school for it is cost effective and will enable the teachers to train at their own free time given their tight schedule (Bonk, 2002). The web based tutorial will be aimed at training teachers who will in turn train students in classrooms on how to use the responders.
Web based solutions will therefore be the best solution since it is is more cost effective than other training programs such as direct training from individual experts and institutions. Since the school has limited resources it will be difficult for them to afford direct training from experts. Web based training is also flexible since teachers can use their free time to attend to the training programs. Teachers at the school are having tight schedule hence it will be impossible for them to engage in other training programs that will require full attendance such as direct training. Web based solutions will allow them to organize their free time so as to attend to the training programs.
Web based training program is also appropriate since it will enable teacher to have references when required. The training program will be available online hence teachers can refer whenever they have a need. This makes it a reliable and effective means of training the teachers on the use of student responders.
Constraints for the Training Delivery
Training of teachers through web based means offers no constraints towards the delivery of the objectives. This is because the online training is cost effective since it will require the use of limited resources to implement. The training is also flexible hence teachers can organize their own free time to attend to the lessons (Scott & Stone, 2008). Students will also not incur any amount towards training since teachers will train the students in classrooms. This will make it time and cost effective for the school hence facilitates the use of student responders among teachers and students at the school.
Conclusion
The inability of majority of teachers and students at Mary Immaculate Queen Catholic School to use student responders requires the development of a training program that will ensure that there is literacy towards the use of responders. Since the school is working on a tight schedule given that there is low number of teachers and limited resources, web based training program will be the best method of training for the school. The training program will enable teachers to learn on how to student responders at their free time and later train the students on the same during their class lessons.
